The Park View Patient Participation Group was formed in 2012 to encourage an ongoing culture of feedback and patient involvement. The group is not a forum for an individual issue or complaint, but a voice of the patient contributing to the modelling of healthcare and services accessed by all, and is made up of our patients and representatives from the Practice.

The purpose of the PPG is to ensure that patients and carers are involved in decisions about the range, shape and quality of services provided by their practice. The role of the PPG includes:

  • being a critical friend to the practice
  • advising the practice on the patient perspective and providing insight into the responsiveness and quality of services
  • encouraging patients to take greater responsibility for their own and their family’s health
  • carrying out research into the views of those who use the practice
  • organising health promotion events and improving health literacy
  • ongoing communication with the patient population.

Action plan

Our PPG is in need of a Chair Person and Secretary. We are doing our best here at Park View to promote the PPG and to encourage new members but unfortunately have had very little uptake.

We are working on a number of improvement works at the Surgery, with the main aim being to release clinical time.

See Meetings and reports for updates.

Would you like to get involved?

Next meeting date is Wednesday 15th August 2-3pm at Milnthorpe. We will also be running this meeting virtually on Facebook, so if you want to take part but can't make the meeting, go on to our Facebook page at 2pm and you can add your comments.

Patients and carers all welcome, we would love to see you there.

I'd like to get involved but I can't attend meetings.....

then join as a virtual member and we will send you meeting minutes and agendas or you can opt to join in our meetings via our Facebook page. If you feel this suits you please contact the surgery and ask to speak to Hannah. Or fill in the form.

We would like our patient group to represent as broad a spectrum of our patients as possible to get a truly representative sample of our practice population. We especially need need young people, workers, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups to join. If this is you and you want to make a positive contribution to how the surgery and it's services are organised we would really like to hear from you.
